Alicia was 19 when she ran for the Miss Namur title as part of the Miss Belgique 2027 pageant. It all began with a promise made when her great-grandmother died: to make her proud.
She opened up to Noémie Martin, an info-lux.com contributor and a former contestant herself, for a portrait published on 10 August 2026, ahead of the provincial heats. In the Province of Namur, three are in the running: Alicia, Shana and Julia.
A child’s dream
Modelling was her childhood dream. Miss Belgique seemed a possible way to make it real.
From bullying to self-confidence
Her fight is a personal one. Alicia experienced bullying, an ordeal that changed the way she saw herself. She knew the feeling of no longer recognising herself.
Today, her core value is self-confidence. She would like to tell all women that their body belongs to them and that every body is beautiful: we should be able to accept ourselves as we are, without anyone having to judge.
Her plan, if she is crowned
If she wins the sash, Alicia wants to create a social media page for women who lack self-confidence. There she would show that every body is different, and that it is precisely this difference that sets us apart.
