Barbara Pierrard is 23 in July 2018 when she introduces herself to info-lux.com readers. She is then contestant no. 10 in the Miss Luxembourg 2019 pageant, the provincial round of Miss Belgique.
She describes herself as “a very sociable person, quite cheerful and always smiling”.

She grew up in Suxy, “a lovely little village” between the Ardenne and Gaume, where every year in early July people learn to play square-ball pétanque.
In 2018, she lives in Redu, in the municipality of Libin, near Libramont: the Ardennes village nicknamed “the book village”.

Barbara Pierrard is a nurse specialising in intensive care and emergency medical care. She completed her four years of study at the Haute École Namur-Liège-Luxembourg in Namur and, as of July 2018, has been working in intensive care in Arlon for a year.
People often ask me whether my job is too hard, and I’ll simply say that I really love what I do, and I do it with strong values, including empathy and respect.
Barbara, July 2018
No particular passion, she says: her free time goes to her family, her friends and, in 2018, the contest. It was the Miss Belgique adventure that showed her how much she enjoys walking the catwalk.
Why Miss Luxembourg? For her region, its forests, its landscapes and its quiet spots where it’s easy to recharge. To showcase it, she mentions the Libramont Agricultural Fair, the Chassepierre international street-arts festival, walks around Orval Abbey, and Durbuy.
The Province of Luxembourg is rich and vast, with a huge number of things to do alone, with family or with friends, and that is why I want to represent it as well as I can.

Her sponsors are backing her campaign, including the ING branch in Bertrix and the Passion Coiffure salon in Redu. The Miss Luxembourg 2019 sash eventually went to Yulia Chernyshkova.
