In brief. Eleven years of rhythmic gymnastics, a master’s to teach adapted physical activity, a second-hand wardrobe: at 23, Elisabeth Maire entered Miss Élégance Nationale Lorraine in 2025. No title, but a wish to shake up the codes a little.

Sporty, committed and almost never in make-up, the Thionville native has turned her insecurities into a strength, and leaves the pageant keen on offbeat photo shoots.

In January 2025, Elisabeth Maire is 23 and is finishing a master’s in adapted physical activity, after a STAPS (sport science) degree. Her goal: to become a teacher and use sport to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities.
My name is Elisabeth, I’m 23 and I’m in the final year of a master’s in sport science (STAPS).
Elisabeth Maire, January 2025
Originally from Thionville, she studies in Metz, a city she loves for its rich culture and atmosphere.

Sport is central to her life. She did rhythmic gymnastics for eleven years, a discipline that taught her rigour and how to manage stress. For the past two years she has been climbing: it lets her push her limits, close to nature.
She also regularly uses mental imagery, especially for choreographies: she pictures herself on the competition set, performing her moves smoothly and confidently.

She sees her height and figure as an asset in a beauty pageant, and perhaps as a springboard into modelling. She has turned her insecurities into a strength, to give confidence to girls who are hesitating.
Go for it, whatever your hang-ups, even if you think you don’t fit the “codes” of traditional beauty. What matters isn’t being perfect by imposed standards, but being yourself and believing in your own unique qualities.
Elisabeth Maire, January 2025

She only wears second-hand clothes, combining style with respect for the environment. Her look is vintage and comfortable, and she hardly ever wears make-up, preferring a natural look.
In Metz, she loves second-hand clothes shops and flea markets, the cycle paths, the Centre Pompidou-Metz and the cathédrale Saint-Étienne. She stands up for inclusion, ecology and animal rights; for the pageant, she has chosen to support the Téléthon, which ties in with her studies.

On 18 January 2025, at the château de Nilvange, the eight contestants parade in evening gowns, swimsuits and wedding dresses. The title goes to Carla Mastrorillo. A few months later, More Followers photographs Elisabeth with the Lorraine Miss titleholders at Maison Heler in Metz, where she talks about her pageant.
I loved this experience and had a blast from start to finish! The rehearsals, especially the choreography, were a real pleasure. Learning to walk in heels was no easy feat, but I'm proud of the progress I made.

On the day, she enjoyed giving her speech and answering the presenter in front of the jury and the audience. And she has ideas for what comes next.
I didn’t win a title, but that won’t stop me from carving out my own path. I want to do quirky photo shoots, break the rules a little and take part in fashion shows that reflect who I am.
