Portraits: Juliette, model in Namur: “The image I had of myself was different from the one others saw”

In brief. She was studying computer graphics and at first posed just for fun. In 2023, aged 25, Juliette joins the Namur agency Top Artist and discovers, photo after photo, another image of herself.

    A computer graphics student and model by chance, she discovered in front of the lens an image of herself she never suspected.

    Juliette was 25 when info-lux.com met her, in September 2023. She comes from a small village near Eghezée and is studying computer graphics, graphic design and advertising.

    She says she has “more than one string to her bow”. Much of what she knows she taught herself: she is self-taught in many fields.

    A model by chance

    Photography came into her life through someone close to her. Her ex-boyfriend was studying photography and often asked her to pose for him.

    At first I found it fun; it got me out of my daily routine.

    A new self-image

    Before photography, Juliette saw herself neither negatively nor positively. The pictures showed her something else.

    I realised that the way I saw myself was different from the way others saw me.

    Since then, posing has become more than a hobby. It is also a way to try on other attitudes and take on other roles.

    When her portrait was written, in September 2023, she had just reached a milestone: she had joined Top Artist, Aurélie Poelvoorde’s agency based in Namur. Chances to work with the agency had still been few, but her handful of castings made her feel she had moved up a level.

    It’s just the beginning for me, but who knows, maybe I could start a modelling career.
