She used to sew clothes for her dolls. From Cameroonian runways to magazine covers, she has made fashion her career.

Maeva Righetti is 29 when info-lux.com publishes her portrait, in February 2022. Born on 1st May 1992 in Yaoundé, she grew up in a modest family of three children, the youngest, with two older brothers.
Fashion fascinated her from a very young age: she made clothes for her dolls all by herself. Her parents preferred to see her study. She passed her baccalauréat, then studied sociology up to master's level.
A hostess before becoming a model
One day, the head of the Sonomod modelling agency spotted her in the street. She didn't pay much attention to it.
While studying sociology, she was looking for a part-time job. She signed with Andréa B agency, an events hostess agency, completed a three-month training course there and worked at one-off events. She learnt to walk in high heels, to carry herself in public, to welcome guests and to stay courteous.
The first podium
Her real introduction to modelling came at a casting for hostesses and models for FENAC, a national festival. The organiser saw a talent for the catwalk in her and trained her to walk it in a month, ahead of the event.
Her very first catwalk show goes well. She then signs with the Fecamodel agency and goes on to walk show after show in Cameroon.
She wears creations by Cameroonian and African designers: Blaz Design, Imane Ayissi, Davy Eboueme, Max Design, Jamel O, Alphadi, Solo Design, Yves and Eric Tchinda. She has appeared at the Nuit des talents de création, the Forum des métiers de la mode, the 40th anniversary of CERDOTOLA and the Mode Créa Art 2017 festival.
Photography, and a chance meeting
Working outside her country long remained difficult: her studies and the precarious state of the industry in Cameroon gave her no opportunity. So she collaborated with foreign photographers and joined photographer and model groups on social media to learn.
That is how she met her husband, Bruno Righetti, an amateur photographer who took an interest in one of her photos. In 2022, a mother of three, she shares her passion for fashion with her family.

Going international
In February 2022, she has just joined the agency ETM International Group, European Top Models, aiming to work beyond Belgium. She is also the face of Restless Style Magazine, which has made her known “pretty much all over the world, especially in Europe”.
She models for clothing brands and online shops, such as Inspiration Ethnique, for African-style swimwear. A professional event hostess, a job she particularly enjoys, she also keeps walking catwalks and posing for shoots.
Off the catwalk, she enjoys travel, discovering new things, cooking, cinema and music.
