Marine Toussaint is 19 in August 2016 when she enters Miss Luxembourg 2017. She comes from Libramont-Chevigny, home of the Foire agricole et forestière (agricultural and forestry fair).
At the time, she was training as an education assistant. She plans to add three years of specialisation to become a specialised educator working with young children placed in care by the courts.
Children, football and catwalk shows
Her passions fit in a few words: photo shoots, fashion shows and children.
I love looking after children; their spontaneity and carefree spirit really touch me.

She also calls herself “a huge football fan”. She watches matches on TV, but above all she never misses one of her little brother’s games, following him everywhere: “And yes, I’m a big sister who’s very proud of him.”
Ambassador for an overlooked province
To talk about herself, Marine talks about her province: its villages in bloom, Redu and its book village, Bastogne and its war museum, Durbuy, “the smallest town in the world”.
I’m proud of my province, which is little known but really worth a visit.

A day in Bruges
On 16 July 2016, a few weeks before her portrait was published, Marine is among the provincial Miss Belgique 2017 contestants invited to Bruges by the website Missitems.be. Some forty young women from all over Wallonia spend the day there, with Lenty Frans, Miss Belgique 2016, in attendance.
On the programme: a seven-hour walk, around ten stops, waffles, chips and pralines. Photographer Werner Heselmans captures Marine in her sash, smiling, in front of a shop in town.
