Muriel is 24 when she tells her story to Matthieu Gielen in August 2022. She lives in Belgium, “next to Luxembourg”.
She loves animals and travel. She also talks frankly about the hard times.
Life hasn't always been kind to me and I have lost many people close to me whom I hold dear, but my mum and my friends are my rays of sunshine in this storm of rain and thunder.

One message, one casting
It all starts at the age of 19, when someone contacts her on Facebook about a photo casting.
I’d always wanted to work in this world since I was little but didn’t have the contacts, so I said yes straight away.

The casting photographer then got back in touch and taught her the trade: “from the gaze, to posing, to attitude, even teaching me to walk the runway”. She remains “very grateful” to him.
At 21, she works with a photographer from Liège who quickly gets her signed with an agency. Professional jobs for stylists and hairdressers follow.
Covid, then the comeback
By then she was well on her way. Then Covid arrived.
Nothing left: no more castings, no more photo shoots, no more work.

After almost two years away, at 23, she decided to try again and sent her profile to Belgian agencies. After several months of searching, often without a reply, she lost hope and gradually gave up, until she met a photographer from her area, “lovely and talented”.
He believes in me and in my potential to make it my full-time job again.

Passion and dedication
When I take on a job, I do it with passion and dedication right to the end.

In front of the camera, she says she adapts to anything: in the studio or outdoors, she adjusts her attitude to the theme and the setting. Her shoots have taken her all over Belgium and France.
Her dream: to become an international model. “Or at least, making it my full-time job would already be a real gift from life,” she adds.
Following in Cara Delevingne’s footsteps
The role model has a name: the model Cara Delevingne.
I love everything she radiates, and I’ve always tried and hoped to be like her one day. I hope to find my place and make my name in the world she moves in.
