In brief. Every year she wanted to give it a go. In 2019, aged 20, Stéphanie Simoens, an engineering student from Marche-en-Famenne, enters Miss Luxembourg 2020 with one asset: Dutch, inherited from her father, who is from Antwerp.

Stéphanie Simoens is 20 in July 2019, when info-lux.com introduces her. Originally from Marche-en-Famenne, she is a contestant in the Miss Luxembourg 2020 election, the provincial stage of Miss Belgique.
She had been thinking about the pageant for a long time. Every year, she wanted to take part. In 2019, she made up her mind.

At the time, Stéphanie was studying industrial engineering at Gramme, in Liège. Born to a father from Antwerp and a mother from Marche, she speaks good Dutch, a quality the info-lux.com article calls “essential” for a Miss Belgique.
The 2019 portrait describes her as ambitious, kind, very sociable and “above all, always smiling”.

She has been skiing since the age of 3 and playing the piano since she was 7. Besides skiing, her passion is travel: seventeen countries visited already, according to her 2019 profile.
Fondest memories? The generosity of Thailand and the energy of New York.

In July 2019, info-lux.com writes that she would be honoured to represent her province, “this little corner of the country that has so much to show”. Her goal that year: for Miss Belgique to be Miss Luxembourg.

For her campaign, she wears the contestant’s sash and hands out her voting cards. Two sponsors support her: À l’heure du Style, a new clothes shop in La Roche, and Rramalia, a brick repointing company in Huy.
On 25 August 2019, the Miss Luxembourg 2020 crown goes to Laura Vanquaillie, from Bertrix.
